EDEN ISLAND BRINGING SOME SUNSHINE TO THE WORLD

IT is easy to take the sunshine and warm weather for granted when you live in the Seychelles. Spare a thought for those living in Britain, with its constant rain, or Russia, where the temperatures drop well below zero quite often. In countries like these, sunshine is a hot commodity.

At Eden Island, we know that the biggest part of selling our property is selling the Seychelles. Not just the lovely weather, but the unique culture, the uncomplicated lifestyle and the adventure associated with living in a tropical paradise. These are the things that people value the world over. It is our job to bring it to them.

Our marketing drive is kicking into gear, promoting the Seychelles as a destination not only to those in dire need of a bit of sunshine, but cleverly to those who are already addicted to it. From yachtsmen to adventurers, divers to seasoned world travellers, those who have been to the Seychelles and those who are about to discover its treasures – Eden Island is bringing the Seychelles to them.

From the 5th to the 7th October Eden Island had a beautiful stand at the Cape Town International Boat Show in South Africa. The only development in between all the yachts and luxury speedboats on show, it was an inspired marketing exercise drawing a lot of attention from potential buyers. The exhibition drew yachtsmen from all over South Africa, most of them with expendable income and a desire to explore. Of course the Eden Island Marina offers them the perfect base from which to discover the rest of the Seychelles.

Similarly, but with the emphasis on investment rather than adventure, Eden Island are also exploring new markets like Shanghai, Russia and Dubai in association with Pam Golding International Properties, our international selling agents.

The Shanghai exhibition took place in September 2007 at the Shanghai International Convention Centre, located in the heart of the Lujiazui financial district facing the historical Bund. Again, interest in Eden Island and the Seychelles was high, proving again that no matter where in the world you are, if the product, lifestyle and opportunities are good, business will follow.

Business is precisely the reason why we are targeting Russia and Dubai next. Dubai has already garnished a reputation for being the new playground of the rich and famous from around the world. It would make good business sense to tap into this lucrative resource. Eden Island will exhibit at the Grand Hyatt Dubai between 1st and 3rd November this year. Dubai, like the Seychelles, offer some of the best diving opportunities in the world, and like-minded tourists from all over the world will certainly take a deeper interest in the Seychelles based on this.

From there we are off to Moscow, Russia. As the Russian economy continues to expand, more and more Russians are starting to dabble in the overseas property market.  There is a new sector of Russians with growing disposable income that needs to be educated and informed as to the advantages of purchasing international property. Eden Island will be there to bring a bit of the Seychelles sun to the 9th Moscow International Property Show that will take place in central Moscow on 16th and 17th November at the T-Modul Exhibition Hall. The T-Modul Centre has a unique triangular design which will ensure a smooth and constant flow of visitors to our stand. With its stunning Seychelles images, dominated by blue seas, green forests and ample sunshine, the Eden Island exhibition is sure to make a lasting impression on the new royalty of Russia.

From Russia we take the exhibition back to one of our most prosperous hunting grounds – France. The French has long been infatuated with the Seychelles, with a steady stream of repeat visitors coming to its shores year in year out. On the 7th to the 9th of December we will attend the Salon Prestiges 07 – a trade fair open to French and foreign exhibitors. December is the perfect time to target the French, with its icy winter taking hold of the country, just before the holidays start.  Eden Island and the Seychelles naturally offer them exactly what they are looking for.

As our year comes to an end, no doubt on an extremely high note, so the New Year brings with it a host of new opportunities and exciting prospects. The first, being of course the much anticipated Seychelles Sailing Cup, launching from Eden Island in January 2008.

We look forward to bringing the Seychelles to the world and will keep you updated on where we are off to next – no doubt somewhere where everyone rather wished they were here…
